A call to Mr. Sulzer came after I was denied my concealed carry permit. This denial was not an accurate depiction of who I am, but I needed to effectively communicate that to a board who knew nothing about me. Prior to talking with Steve, I reached out to multiple attorneys, but following our conversation I was sure about my decision to allow him to represent me. I needed someone who took on my case as their own, passionate about their work, but also extremely good at what they do. I truly got that and more.
Mr. Sulzer walked me through the process by explaining the steps of my appeal, presenting my options, and advising based on the pros/cons of each. At no time did I feel uncomfortable or “out of the loop”. He was extremely resourceful, informative, and moved at a comfortable pace, while being personable, down to earth, and just easy to get along with.
One of the things that stood out to me was that Mr. Sulzer put into action the words he spoke. Very simply put; if he said he would do something, it got done. I could rely on him throughout the entire process. He delivered a finished product that was not loosely crafted, but one that he constantly reviewed and revised to perfection.
I am grateful to have worked with Mr. Sulzer. Yes, I won my appeal!! I walked away with my permit knowing I had the best attorney to represent me. Thanks Steve!!

I recently engaged Mr. Sulzer for his assistance on a firearms related matter in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I also attended the National Firearms Law Institute class, “The Legal Use of Firearms for Self-Defense in Virginia that he teaches.
Mr. Sulzer returned my initial phone call in a very timely manner and spent a good amount of time on the phone with me in order to get to know the exact details of my situation/case while also discussing the particulars of Virginia firearms law as it pertained to me. His knowledge of the subject was extremely impressive as was the passion he exhibited for the subject matter.
The class he teaches, “The Legal Use of Firearms for Self-Defense in Virginia”, is a very thorough, informative, and understandable lesson the laws of self-defense in Virginia. It also addresses the actions one can take to protect themselves legally should such an unfortunate event happen. Mr. Sulzer teaches the class from a very practical perspective and is able to convey the information in a concise manner that makes it enjoyable and easy to understand. He also provided me with a copy of the slides presented during the course so I can refer to the information in the future if needed.
Mr. Sulzer was very prompt in returning all phone calls and emails, and he answered all of my questions and inquiries in a very thorough and understandable manner. It is clear Mr. Sulzer cared about my questions and concerns, as all of his responses showed the same extensive knowledge and passion as our initial conversation. In addition to speaking over the phone, I also met with Mr. Sulzer in person on multiple occasions. While meeting in person he did a great job of ensuring the meetings stayed focused on the task at hand while also keeping them comfortable and casual by sharing stories and anecdotes of his experiences.
I was very fortunate to have a successful outcome for my case thanks to the efforts of Mr. Sulzer and the amount of work and the level of detail he put into it. Overall I cannot say enough good things about the level of service Mr. Sulzer provided. I would not hesitate to engage his services again and would highly recommend him to anyone. I would also highly recommend the class he teaches on the legal use of firearms for self-defense in Virginia to anyone who owns or is thinking of purchasing a firearm, and am looking forward to any additional classes he may teach in the future.

I contacted Mr. Sulzer with questions about firearms ownership in the Northern Virginia/DC area. I am a military officer and a gun owner. Due to the fact that we re-locate around the country every few years I am presented with a new set of state laws to be aware of and comply with. Washington DC’s gun laws are particularly onerous and I was relieved when Mr. Sulzer took the time to help me understand all the ins and outs of DC’s laws. He was professional, knowledgeable, personable and worked with me until I was satisfied with my understanding of Virginia and DC’s gun laws. In the end I can’t say enough good things about the time and advice he gave me. I recommend him HIGHLY!
